Kenya is most famous for its dazzling safaris especially in the Mara and picturesque beaches which are located on the south coast. Nairobi which is Kenya’s greatest city is considered the capital of Africa’s culture.
Here are 4 reasons why Nairobi is a great city to visit in Kenya.


1. David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust:


It is one of the most pioneering animal rehabilitation centers in Africa and i the whole world. Young orphan elephants and rhinos, the victims of poaching and human-wildlife conflicts, are treated there. To date, over 150 infant elephants were treated there. Between 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. daily, visitors can watch the slurps and gurgles of young orphans being fed. Their keepers are skillful and kind and treat them well. You can adopt a young orphan elephant for $50 and follow its treatment journey.


2. Nairobi National Park:


Nairobi can boast a fully-fledged safari park that houses the Big 5 of African wildlife. It is located only 7km from the center of this Kenya city. Visitors are allowed to take their own car into a mass of highland greenery. Don’t worry about the prices because they are cheap. The park’s nickname is the ‘Kifaru Arc’.  It boasts the world’s biggest black rhino population. On weekends, you can join the locals who take full advantage of the unique range of picnic spots found within.
Also, make sure to visit the Ivory Burning Monument. It is a national conservation site where former President Arap-Moi destroyed poached ivory in 1989.

3. Nairobi National Museum:


It is located 10 minutes from the center of the city. Nairobi National Museum boasts a collection of rich, cultural artifacts extending back to the earliest prehistoric remains.  The incredible skeletal discoveries of homo-habilis found by renowned archaeologists are displayed there. There is also a great collection of native bird species that will be a great collection to any bird-lover.


4. Karura Forest in Kenya:


The hustle of Nairobi’s city life can kind of overwhelming. That is why the lush scenery of Karura Forest is the perfect place if you want to escape this hustle and go hiking. Go there early because early mornings are the best time of day to beat the hot African sun. The forest’s location is upon a bed of one million-year-old volcanic rock and is the home of a variety of indigenous animals such as the big-eyed Bush Baby and handsome Bushbuck.
